My daughter, Autumn, had outpatient surgery for ear tubes and I just wanted to say that the outpatient nurse Amy, who attended her was WONDERFUL! Actually, all of the staff in outpatient, including Dr. Hotaling, (resident) Dr. Pappas and nurse Gia were great. It was a nice experience considering the circumstances.

My wife, Valeria Spielvogel, had to undergo a skull base surgery in your hospital due to a medical mistake which happened in Lima, Peru. We cannot praise your medical team enough. Drs. Leonetti, Anderson, Borrowdale and Charous did an outstanding job, which not only cured her from this huge tumor, but saved her life as well! All of the residents doctors and nurses like Kate on the second floor, from the beginning to the end of my wife's stay showed the utmost care. They really live up to your motto of not only treating the disease but the human spirit as well! You can be very proud of your institution and if we ever need medical assistance again, be sure that "Loyola" will be our hospital of choice.

When I walked in to Dr. Kevin Welch's office I was an emotional wreck. i was hoping to finally get answers to resolve my medical condition and I cried as I told him the whole story (dental implant procedure damaged sinuses, caused infection, rejected implant, round after round of pain and infection medications).
He listened with compassion and let me blubber through it all. What I did not know was that he was already thinking through what he could do to resolve the problem. He began giving me confidence just by his professional manner and human response to what I had been through.
After a CT scan, he was ready to give me the answers to what he needed to do to rid me of the infection due to a torn, infected sinus. I had the surgery the next week.
The care I received before, during and after the surgery was outstanding. My husband said that he was impressed that Dr. Welch took the time to come out of the waiting room to give him a report.
I have seen Dr. Welch several times since the surgery and I am happy to report that I am feeling better. Dr. Welch has also referred me to an oral surgeon to finish my recovery process. I was also impressed that he had already contacted him (oral surgeon) to discuss my case.
I want to thank you for having such a superb surgeon on your staff at Loyola Hospital. I thank God that I was cared for by Dr. Welch!
