Hand Surgery

Loyola’s expertise in hand surgery includes trauma, arthritis and peripheral nerve problems. Our faculty members have special expertise in management of congenital abnormalities and hand paralysis resulting from spinal cord injury. The Hand Rehabilitation Center provides both acute and follow-up hand therapy services.

Four faculty members from the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and one from the Department of Plastic Surgery constitute the Hand Service. Orthopaedic surgeons Michael Bednar, MD,  Terry Light, MD, Sameer Puri, MD and Kenneth Schiffman, MD are joined in this service by Plastic Surgeon Sonya Agnew, MD.
