Welcome from the Chair

The Stritch School of Medicine Central Curricular Authority (CCA) was established in 1993 as a way to represent the faculty to the dean on medical school curricular matters.

Today there are six CCA subcommittees: Competency Evaluation and Assessment Review Committee; Curricular Innovation and Technology in Education; Evaluation; Curricular Year Directors; Health Equity in the Curriculum; and Longitudinal Outcomes. The members of these subcommittees deliberate curricular matters related to their charges and provide recommendations to the CCA. The CCA works collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, administrators, and deans to provide oversight of the curriculum and recommendations to the Dean of the SSOM.

We appreciate your visiting this web-based resource which supports the CCA in its responsibility for assuring the design, management, integration, evaluation and continuous quality improvement of a coherent and coordinated medical curriculum. Materials contained on this site also support the CCA’s work of monitoring, in an ongoing fashion, compliance with LCME accreditation standards related to the curriculum.

Sincerely,

Theresa Kristopaitis, MD, FACP
