Emergency Medical Services

This division of the Department of Emergency Medicine focuses on the Pre-Hospital component of patient care. As one of the original three resource hospitals designated by the Illinois Department of Public Health in the 1970’s, Loyola University Medical Center EMS Systems has grown in both size and scope of pre-hospital care. Our current system provides a range of services and educational programs for the spectrum of provider capabilities which range from basic volunteers programs to critical care transport agencies. In addition to medic providers, the Loyola System also provides medical direction and educational support to agencies that perform dispatch (911 call centers) to initiate care before arrival of EMS to an emergency.
