Introduction

Welcome to the Graduate School

A Message from the Associate Dean of Graduate Education at the Health Sciences Campus

This is an exciting time in biomedical research and healthcare, a time of unprecedented change and opportunity for those trained to meet the evolving scientific and professional environment.  This site provides an introduction to the degree programs offered by the Graduate School on the Loyola University Chicago Health Sciences Campus, programs supported by faculty, staff, and resources from the Stritch School of Medicine.

The exponential growth in our understanding of mechanisms underlying health and disease parallels the need for collaborative, interdisciplinary research within rapidly expanding global scientific and healthcare communities.  Health Sciences Campus faculty and programs prepare individuals who will excel in contributing to the evolution of scientific knowledge and its impact on the future of healthcare and its delivery.

I encourage you take a closer look at the degree programs which cover a broad range of disciplines for PhD and MS degrees in the Biomedical Sciences, along with degrees and certificates in Public Health and Bioethics.

Our PhD program consists of six academic tracks within the Integrated Program in Biomedical Sciences (IPBS).  The IPBS brings together researchers from multiple disciplines in the Biomedical sciences for the common goal of providing flexible options for health-related careers in academia or industry.  We are committed to creating an individualized graduate experience that is tailored to your future!

Mitchell Denning, PhD
Associate Dean for Graduate Education
Professor, Cancer Biology;
