Hospital Medicine Interest Group

The Hospital Medicine Interest Group (HMIG) is a medical school interest group with the purpose of helping inform the Stritch community about the field of Hospital Medicine, with the goal of spreading awareness and engaging medical students and resident physicians to pursue a career in Hospital Medicine.

Aims of the HMIG SSOM chapter include:

-Conduct regular chapter meetings with chapter membership
-Pursue, plan, and execute programs relevant to the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) goals for excellent clinical care, teaching, research, and leadership in general hospital medicine
-Contribute to SHM’s growth through advocacy and education initiatives on the role of hospitalists to fellow classmates and the nearby medical student community
-Support the establishment of HMIG chapters at surrounding colleges and universities
-Increase engagement with trainees
