Souleus is an open-to-all-levels dance organization that holds structured, bi-weekly dance workshops by Stritch student dancers and choreographers. We also provide opportunities to engage with the greater-Chicago community through dance. The primary mission of Souleus is for medical student dancers to stay involved in our shared passion for dance, and have a unique outlet buffering against the mental and emotional stressors of medical school. Our goal is to foster a positive environment uniting students of varying dance backgrounds through workshops, dance lessons and social outings.
Dance workshops will be offered biweekly at the Loyola Fitness Center — featuring an experienced student-dancer teaching step-by-step choreography in a dance genre of his/her specialty. Workshops are independent and do not build upon each other. Outings to see performances or take classes outside of the Stritch environment will occur when unique opportunities arise. Souleus also hopes to build social connection, promote wellness and create memorable experiences through the art of dance.
