Publications, Presentation and Awards

 

Aleksandra “Saska” Vuchkovska (Iwashima Lab) was awarded an Arthur J. Schmitt Dissertation Fellowship in Leadership and Service for the 2020/2021 academic year.

Kanak Joshi (Zhang laboratory) published a manuscript in the journal Blood entitled “Myc-Miz1 signaling promotes self-renewal of leukemia stem cells by repressing Cebpα and Cebpδ”.  Blood. 2020 Apr 2;135(14):1133-1145.

Jonathan Eby (Callaci laboratory) was awarded a NIH/NIAAA F31 predoctoral fellowship, starting December 2019.  Congratulations Jonathan!

Kanak Joshi (Zhang laboratory) published a chapter in the book Leukemia Stem Cells in Hematologic Malignancies entitled “Leukemia Stem Cells in the Pathogenesis, Progression, and Treatment of Acute Myeloid Leukemia”. The book was published in July 2019.


Jonathan Eby
(Callaci laboratory) published a paper in PLoS One, 2019 Mar 20;14(3):e02143. The title of his paper was "Effects of ethanol and ethonal metabolites on intrinsic function of mesentric resistance arteries".

Lourdes Plaza Rojas (Guevara laboratory) was co-author on a paper published in Journal for the ImmunoTherapy of Cancer, vol. 7: 2019. The title of her paper was "NKG2D signaling certifies effector CD8 T cells for memory formation".

Melissa Quintanilla (Beach laboratory) was awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.
