Chairman's Statement

The mission of the Department of Neurology is to deliver the best service to our population, using innovative healthcare delivery systems with the foundation of cutting edge applied clinical neuroscience research.

Vision:

We will be the healthcare provider for neurologic care in the Chicagoland area. We will actively shape our future and meet the challenges of constant "change" in the healthcare environment with creativity, innovation and fiscal discipline.

Goals:

  • To deliver the highest quality, state of the art, compassionate care to adult and pediatric patients suffering from neurologic disorders.
  • To deliver cutting edge neurologic care with an emphasis on evidence based treatments constantly focusing to improve upon disease specific Health Related Quality of Life (HRQL) parameters.
  • To deliver rigorous training of future neurologists and medical students rotating through our services with creative mentoring of trainees.
  • To emphasize education, training and direct supervision of medical students, residents and fellows, as an integral and vital part of our mission.
  • To encourage faculty to participate in clinical, pre-clinical, and health services research.
  • To discover and develop new and meaningful treatments for patients suffering from neurologic disorders.
