Loyola Medicine has one of the most comprehensive and advanced neurosciences teams in the nation. Our expert team takes a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and provides support services for patients and families. Our neurology and neurosurgery departments are ranked as 28th in the country on U.S. News & World Report’s 2019-2020 Best Hospitals list. Through collaboration with subspecialists, including critical care physicians, radiologists and emergency medicine physicians, the neurosciences team provides comprehensive care for patients to determine neurological diseases, injuries and issues interfering with critical neurological functions.
At the Loyola Department of Neurological Surgery we are committed to excellence in patient care, expansion of neuroscience knowledge and the training of future neurosurgeons. We emphasize learning with compassion, and bring our patients the best in health care services, from bedside care to the use of the most advanced technologies.
Our highly trained faculty cover the full spectrum of neurosurgical disorders. Additionally, we have outstanding centers in skull base surgery, complex spinal care with specialization in deformity correction and vascular/endovascular expertise. Our oncology service is an interdisciplinary program with the Cardinal Bernadin Cancer Center. We care for the challenging cases that present through the Level 1 trauma center of the Loyola University Medical Center. Our functional program works closely with our neurology colleagues specializing in epilepsy and movement disorders.
Our partner site is at the Hines VA hospital. Loyola University Medical Center is a member of Trinity Health and our department provides consultation services to Gottlieb, MacNeal and Mercy Hospitals.
