General Neurosurgery

All of our faculty are recognized experts in one or more areas of neurosurgery, and many of them have pioneered specialized techniques in these areas. While some patients will benefit from these cutting edge techniques, in other cases, the best treatment option will involve an operation that has proven effective over decades of use. While the complete list of these general neurosurgical procedures is too long to include here, some of these operations include cervical and lumbar decompression (laminectomy), certain fusion procedures, management of hydrocephalus with shunting, operations to improve the outcome of head trauma and stroke, and removal of certain types of brain tumors.
