Community Events

In ongoing and evolving efforts to serve and educate the local community, the Department of Radiology at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine partners with other organizations to conduct several service projects. In conjunction with the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center, the department participates several times a year in health events that promote cancer screening and prevention. These include:

  • “Mammograms for Mother’s Day,” an initiative to fight breast cancer
  • “Promoting Prostate Health,” an initiative for Father’s Day
  • “Women Uplifting Women,” a health and wellness fair
  • “Man to Man Expo,” a health and wellness fair

All these events are sponsored by the office of State Sen. Kimberly Lightford. Other community outreach projects include departmental participation in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk and the Stritch School of Medicine University Ministry’s annual Thanksgiving basket drive. Opportunities for community service on a national and international level are also available through the Stritch School of Medicine’s very active International Service Immersion program and the Center for Community and Global Health.
