Description:

Medical students will spend a dedicated month rotating through all aspects of anatomic pathology (surgical pathology, cytopathology, dermatopathology, neuropathology and hematopathology). Since this is a focused elective on AP-only, a prerequisite is to have done a prior AP/CP combined elective (PATH-405). Students will continue to improve their understanding of gross dissection of specimens, frozen sections, and microscopic examination of surgical cases. 2-3 days will be spent learning cytopathology which includes fine needle aspirations. The student will observe at least 2 autopsies.

Method of Evaluation:

Attendance, daily and overall performance, and evaluation on final presentation.
