Community Service Opportunities

Maywood Fine Arts Association - - Loyola Dept of Public Health Sciences, Stritch School of Medicine and Niehoff School of Nursing (Dietetics and Exercise Sciences) have had a long-standing relationship with MFA.  We are starting our 3rd year of a Family-based Lifestyle Intervention Program in which families in Maywood set their own health goals and our students (and faculty) help them reach those goals.  It is a great program and community organization.  If interested in checking things out, the first orientation meeting for students will be Monday, August 25, 5-6 pm in room 360, SSOM.  Dinner will be served but bring your own beverage!  For more information, contact Drs. Luke or Dugas.

West Suburban PADS -  West Suburban PADS is the only agency whose sole purpose is to end homelessness in Cook County’s 20 near-west suburban communities.  They offer a continuum of services in five program areas:  shelter, supportive services, supportive housing, employment readiness, homeless prevention.  More than 800 men, women and children use one or more of PADS services each year.  For more information, you can contact Dr. Luke, Dr. Kuczewski in Neiswanger Bioethics Institute, or email for current opportunities.
