Academic Medicine Interest Group

The Academic Medicine Interest Group (AMIG) will present academic medicine as a career path to a diverse medical student population at the Stritch School of Medicine. Through opportunities for education, mentorship, professional development and academic collaboration, AMIG will provide resources to enable further exploration of careers in academic medicine. We will identify and expand upon the different forms of scholarship (e.g., discovery, integration, application and teaching) as they manifest as various academic scholarship tracks such as research, service and education. Our intention is to raise awareness among medical students early in their education about academic medicine as a career, alongside the paths and structure of an academic medical institution, while providing access to academic physicians for career mentorship.
