Stritch School of Medicine Class of 2020

On Saturday, August 20, Stritch welcomed its latest M1 class at the annual White Coat Ceremony. The White Coat Ceremony is a tradition amongst medical schools that signifies the student’s transition into clinical studies. Various faculty members and alumni assisted in “cloaking” the students.

The Class of 2020 is one of Stritch’s most diverse. Here are a few fast facts on the incoming class:

  • 25 birth states are represented.
  • The Class of 2020 collectively speaks 38 different languages, with 51 percent speaking two languages, 26 percent speaking three, 5 percent speaking four and one student who speaks five languages.
  • M1s play 18 instruments.
  • The average undergraduate GPA was 3.57 and the average graduate GPA was 3.82.
  • This class of 160 students was chosen from a total of 10,971 applicants.
