Allergy

The department of Otolaryngology has a thriving inhalant allergy practice. We offer skin prick testing and serum specific IgE testing for inhalant allergens as well as subcutaneous immunotherapy injections at both the Burr Ridge and Maywood locations.  Oral FDA approved sublingual allergy tablets are also offered. Sublingual immunotherapy drops are on the horizon.

Allergy education is a critical part of Otolaryngology training and this department allows for complete training of residents in this important field.  In addition, allergy therapy often plays a critical role in therapy of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis and this department therefore provides a complete approach to our atopic patients.
