Sam Marzo, MD named Dean of SSOM
It is with great pride that the Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Department announces the promotion of Dr. Sam Marzo who has been named Dean of the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine. While Dr. Marzo will no longer serve as Chairman of the Otolaryngology Department, he will maintain an active participation as a member. The department thanks Dr. Marzo for his longtime service and dedication to the institution.
Dr. Eric Thorpe has stepped in as interim Chairman during this time of transition. Dr. Thorpe has had a committed role in the Department as Residency Program Director. Outside of his clinical practice, he has also pursued his Master’s work in business administration, giving him a very timely skillset to lead the department during a time of relative instability due to the Covid pandemic.
